The 2006 Steeda Autosports Focus Day provided Foci owners with a fun day. A Steeda goody bag complete with event t-shirt and Steeda gift certificate for 15% off all Steeda manufactured parts, dyno runs, tours of the Pompano Beach campus, great prizes and a chance to get great deals on Steeda Focus parts. The beautiful late April weather provided everyone with a beautiful Saturday for everyone to enjoy the event. Steeda President Dario Orlando conducted a tour of the campus including a review of the 200 horsepower, Zetec powered number 22 Steeda Focus. The car fresh from parts development races at Sebring International Raceway and Moroso Motorsports Park, is undergoing further updates by Steeda Racing Chief Engineer, Steve Chichisola. The continuous process of designing, engineering and testing under the most demanding conditions, the racetrack is ongoing at Steeda. The result is more competition proven Focus performance parts for Focus owners. The Steeda ZX3, Crimson Ride was in attendance along with Steeda Webmaster Larry Ward' s 2005 Focus ST. Larry installed his Kicker Audio System the week prior to the event, adding great sounds to his Steeda enhanced ST. He was not alone in his quest from superior sound, because after seeing the high of number of Foci equipped with high output stereo components, it was more than evident that Foci owners enjoy tunes, big time.
The Steeda Autosports dyno was a busy place as any number of Foci owners wanted to find out just how many horsepower they had at the front wheels. Justin Landon running his 2000 ZX3 out of Boca Raton, Florida took top horsepower honors with a very impressive 302 from his Zetec 2.0 liter engine. As a reward for winning the most horsepower honors, Justin won a $100.00 Steeda gift certificate.
Leading the prize raffle at the end of the day were a set of tires from leading performance tire manufacturers, Nitto, BF Goodrich and Dunlop. Winners get to choose the type and size set of tires they want. Chris Holland traveled all the way across the state from Ft Myers, Florida to win a set of Nitto performance tires. The Dunlop Sport performance tires went to Justin Landon, originally from Ft. Worth, Texas and now a resident of Boca Raton. His friends were just as happy that he won as Justin, since they knew his current tires were worn to the core! The BF Goodrich g-Sport performance radials were won by Bobby Carpenter, running his Focus out of Miami.
Other winners took home a set of Hawk High Performance brake pads, while a set of Powerslot rotors instantly upgraded their winner's Focus. Quality companies like Energy Suspension, Autometer, Royal Purple Synthetic oil, Cosworth, Russell Equipment Products, Performance Distributors Firepower Ignition Kit and Problend Motorsports Products provided prizes for the event.
Steeda Focus Day offered Focus owners from all over a chance to come together, meet new friends, renew old friendships and most of all enjoy their Foci. Judging from the success of this year's event, next April, the Steeda Focus Day will be an even bigger gathering of the Foci faithful.
